Abstract

The displaced Palestinians form a slate of bodies upon which the new geopolitical orderings defined by Israel and the Western powers are punitively inscribed. They are displaced to appendage cities whose sole function is to serve as a stock of precarious labor for the archaic and ultramodern Israeli economy, labor camps with movement regulated by the Israel Defense Forces. From there it is a short leap to extermination zones, as in Gaza, where every Palestinian becomes a target under the pretext of forming a "human shield for terrorism." In the case of Gaza, the cleansing has been carried out in the form of "hot land clearing" with massive bombings; while in the West Bank the method is continuous expulsion. This is what No Other Land seeks to record and expose. Translated into Arabic it is Arḍun 'Ukhra, foreign land, no more land, No Ground, as it was translated into Portuguese.
