Hinamizawa in "When cicadas cry" (2006-2007): place, community and affection

Quando as cigarras choram (2006-2021) is a Japanese animated series spin-off of a video game franchise and manga publications. The animation brings the story of Rika Furude, a priestess who tries for a hundred years to avoid her own murder, in the locality of Hinamizawa. To unravel the mystery, she needs her friends and the community, who welcome and accept her. The methodology used is literature review on topophrenia and social psychology from the point of view of Edith Stein. This text deals with the location where the events take place and how the creation of bonds and a support network are capable of transforming a story of tragedy into an ode to the community spirit of Hinamizawa.
