Abstract

Filipa Venâncio often resorts in her painting work, to the representation of architectural spaces, alternating between the observed house from the outside and interior views. Observing the sequential construction of painting (series), it is possible to observe strategies that approach the language of cinema. This aspect is emphasized in the construction of the visual narrative that is often proposed or simply hinted at, through the presentation of pictorial sets in travellings or in panoramics, as if it were a story board. The painting itself is sometimes developed from photographys and films. Other times it suggests the invention of scenarios, also them with similarities and conceptual affinities to those of certain filmography, as in Casa da Capela (2021) - target project of
specific analysis in this reflection. The interest in this crossing of territories, as a place of choice and motto for future and running projects, is also enunciated here in anticipation, thus enabling a preview in première.
